Hello Fellow Productivity Enthusiasts! Today on the blog, we're talking about teamwork in Too Much of a Good Thing: Can Teamwork Damage Productivity? Back in the 1890s, French researcher Max Ringelmann discovered what others later called the Ringelmann effect : The larger a workgroup, the more likely workers will waste time rather than get their work done. Not only do they socialize more, they also expect others to pick up the slack. This remains true today: small workgroups tend to produce more per person than larger ones. On Friday’s Productivity Pro Podcast, I talked about Avoiding Groupthink to Maintain Creativity and Innovation. Join us May 4 for a one-hour webinar on Information Management. I could use your help on an article I’m writing on improving
TEAM/COLLECTIVE productivity at work. Please take a moment to answer this quick three-question survey. Thank
you for joining me, and have a productive day! |
